Nestled within the peaceful beachfront neighbourhood of Gibbs, St. Peter, Shoestring is a striking three-bedroom villa set against a backdrop of mature tropical trees and the aquamarine Caribbean Sea. Inspired by Barbados’ traditional wooden chattel houses, the property combines elements of island architecture with clean, contemporary design.
Layered architectural details, expansive living spaces, louvred windows and oversized glass doors create a seamless connection between the interiors, gardens and one of Barbados’ most beautiful beaches. Smooth granite finishes and glass accents lend the villa a sophisticated, minimalist aesthetic, while the distinctive entrance appears to hover above a tranquil koi pond, setting the tone for the calm and understated elegance found throughout the home.
Shoestring’s open-plan design, minimal interior walls and emphasis on natural light allow the magnificent sea views to take centre stage. The kitchen and living areas flow effortlessly into one another, with light-coloured walls, modern detailing and a neutral palette creating a relaxed and uncluttered environment.
Occupying the upper level, the impressive primary suite enjoys uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea and features a dramatic glass-enclosed shower. The two additional bedrooms are located on the lower level, each with an en-suite bathroom. One includes a beautiful bathtub overlooking the gardens. All three bedrooms are air-conditioned and furnished with king-size beds.
Guests at Shoestring are looked after by an attentive cook/housekeeper and laundress, who prepare delicious meals and ensure the villa remains beautifully maintained throughout the stay.
The villa opens directly onto Gibbs Beach, renowned for its powder-soft white sand, calm crystal-clear water and mature trees offering welcome natural shade. The beach slopes gently into the sea, making it particularly well suited to swimming and families with young children, while the clear water provides excellent conditions for snorkelling.
Although Gibbs Beach is generally quieter and more tranquil than many of the West Coast’s better-known beaches, water sports can often be arranged nearby, including waterskiing, banana-boat rides, parasailing, Hobie Cat sailing and jet skiing.

Shoestring is located directly on the beach. Please be aware that beaches naturally change in shape, size and accessibility throughout the year due to seasonal waves, currents and tides.
Every effort has been made to accurately represent the beach in front of the property; however, temporary or seasonal changes may occur, and direct beach access cannot be guaranteed at all times.
