Royal Westmoreland
Understanding the facilities available during your stay
Royal Westmoreland is one of Barbados’ most prestigious private residential resorts, offering an outstanding collection of facilities within its beautifully maintained, gated estate.
However, while all villas enjoy the privacy and security of the resort, access to its recreational facilities depends on the membership held by the individual property owner.
Royal Westmoreland offers three membership categories: Full Membership, Social Membership and No Membership.
Understanding these differences is important when choosing your holiday villa, particularly if you intend to make use of the resort’s golf course, beach club or sporting facilities.
Full Membership
The most comprehensive level of resort access.
Guests staying in a villa with Full Membership enjoy access to Royal Westmoreland’s extensive range of recreational facilities, subject to the applicable resort facilities fee.
These include:
- The Sanctuary fitness centre and gym
- Resort swimming pools
- Tennis, padel and pickleball courts
- Royal Westmoreland’s exclusive beach facilities at Mullins
- Resort beach shuttle service
- Access to the championship golf course, subject to green fees, tee-time availability and guest restrictions
- Access to the golf driving range
Golf is not complimentary for rental guests. Although the villa owner holds Full Membership, guests renting the property are subject to separate golfing rates and booking conditions.
During the winter season, certain tee times are reserved for club members, with rental guests generally offered access during designated periods.
Social Membership
Access to the resort’s leisure and sporting facilities, excluding full golf privileges.
Guests staying in villas with Social Membership enjoy many of the same resort amenities as those with Full Membership.
Facilities include:
- The Sanctuary fitness centre and gym
- Resort swimming pools
- Tennis, padel and pickleball courts
- Royal Westmoreland’s exclusive beach facilities at Mullins
- Resort beach shuttle service
Social Membership does not provide the same golfing privileges as Full Membership.
Guests wishing to play golf may be able to book a limited visitor tee time, subject to availability and the applicable visitor green fee.
The golf driving range is not available to Social Membership guests.
For visitors who wish to enjoy the resort’s beautiful surroundings, sporting facilities and exclusive beach access without regularly playing golf, Social Membership offers an excellent range of amenities.
No Membership
Private villa accommodation without access to the resort’s recreational facilities.
Some privately owned villas within Royal Westmoreland do not carry an active club membership.
Guests staying in these properties enjoy the security and surroundings of the gated estate but do not have access to the resort’s communal recreational facilities.
This includes the swimming pools, gym, tennis and padel courts, beach club and shuttle service.
Importantly, guests cannot purchase a temporary Social or Full Membership for the duration of their holiday.
Limited visitor golf may still be available, subject to the club’s visitor arrangements and applicable green fees.
Resort Facilities Fee
From 1 May 2026, Royal Westmoreland introduced a weekly resort facilities fee for rental guests wishing to use the communal amenities associated with their villa’s membership.
The fee is charged per villa, rather than per person, and is determined by the property’s bedroom category.
Weekly Resort Facilities Fees
| Villa size | Weekly fee |
|---|---|
| 1–2 bedrooms | US$100 |
| 3 bedrooms | US$125 |
| 4 bedrooms or more | US$150 |
The fee applies to the entire villa, regardless of the number of guests staying.
Charges are calculated in full weekly blocks rather than on a nightly or pro-rata basis.
Payment is made directly to Royal Westmoreland when collecting the resort passes required to access the facilities.
Guests who do not wish to use the communal amenities may choose not to purchase resort passes.
Please note that payment of the resort facilities fee does not upgrade a property’s membership category. Villas without membership are not eligible to purchase resort passes.
Golf at Royal Westmoreland
Royal Westmoreland’s renowned 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., is one of the resort’s principal attractions.
Golf access for villa rental guests depends on the membership associated with their accommodation.
Guests with Full Membership
Guests staying in villas with Full Membership may book golf on a pay-to-play basis, subject to availability.
Indicative green fees are:
| Golf option | Fee |
|---|---|
| 18 holes | US$325 |
| Twilight golf | US$175 |
During the winter season, generally October through April, certain tee times are reserved for full club members.
Rental guests are usually offered designated booking windows, with greater flexibility during the quieter summer months.
Guests with Social or No Membership
Guests staying in villas without Full Membership may be able to play as visiting golfers.
Visitor tee times are extremely limited and generally restricted to a short morning booking window.
Indicative visitor green fees are approximately US$350 per round, including a golf cart.
All golf reservations are subject to availability, and tee times can generally be requested up to seven days in advance.
We recommend confirming current rates and availability with the Royal Westmoreland Golf Pro Shop before your stay.
Royal Westmoreland Beach Club at Mullins
One of the most attractive benefits of Royal Westmoreland membership is access to the resort’s dedicated beach facilities at Mullins Beach.
Located alongside the fabulous Larry Rogers at Mullins restaurant, the beach facility offers a reserved area exclusively for eligible Royal Westmoreland members and registered guests.
Facilities include dedicated beach loungers, towels and bathroom amenities, allowing guests to enjoy a relaxing day beside the Caribbean Sea.
Access is available to guests staying in villas with Full or Social Membership who have obtained the required resort passes.
Guests staying in villas without membership do not have access to these exclusive facilities.
Restaurants & Clubhouse Access
Royal Westmoreland has several dining and refreshment venues within the estate.
Access to these facilities may vary according to the season.
Winter season: 1 November – 30 April
Access to the resort’s clubhouse and dining facilities is generally restricted to eligible guests holding valid resort passes.
Summer season: 1 May – 31 October
The resort’s food and beverage facilities are generally open to all guests staying within the estate, without requiring a paid resort pass solely for dining.
Individual facilities may have their own opening hours, reservation requirements and seasonal arrangements.
